Hailing from Darlinghurst Sydney, RaineSupreme is the alter ego of Raine Cardinaels-Baird. Born in 1980 and raised in the inner Suburbs of Syd city he was exposed to the beginning of Hip-Hop’s “Golden Era” in the late 80s’ early 90s’ through the older brothers of close mates.

Quickly falling in love with this un-heard sound he quickly started amassing a collection of varying styles from Public Enemy to Slick Rick to The Unknown DJ and beyond. Through albums like P.Es’ “Fear Of A Black Planet” and DJ Shadows’ “Endtroducing” He realised that the doors of Hip- Hop opened widely across all genres of music and started him quickly beginning his hunt for all types of obscure sounds. In the Mid-Late 90′s he also discovered the electronica scene in Sydney which introduced him to yet another wave of sonic manipulation. Having amassed a rather large Vinyl and CD collection the next logical step was to pick up a second turntable and a mixer and start to get his mix on. Playing regular parties at the Hollywood Hotel in Surry hills and at random other City slumspots kept his love for collecting music and his mixing in check. Dropping everything from Original Electro, Dirty Blues, Dub, Bass, Hip-Hop, Drum n’ Bass to 80s Pop. In the last few years the obvious continued search for fresh sounds eventually led him to dabbling with creating his own beats. Now having his own little studio tucked away in Camperdown he continues to push out all types of breaks ranging from Hip-Hop to Dubstep, Nu-Jazz to Bass music and random Electronica as well as dabbling in video turntablism. His open style of sample happy broken beat music is still constantly changing and evolving into new and fresh sounds to bring to our ears- weather through DJ sets at parties like “Bedlam@202″, Live AV sets @ “Technique” or his own beat compositions and collaborations with other like minded artists such as Abstrakt or Typhonic (currently pairing up as the “BASS JERKS”). RaineSupreme is gonna be making a lot of loud noises for a while to go yet. Watch your bass bins kids!

PRODUCTION GEAR AND PLUGINS USED FOR THESE TRACKS: MICROKORG, ABLETON 8, N.I MASCHINE, N.I MASSIVE, N.I FM8, REAKTOR, PRO-53, STANTON STR8150s, ECLER NUO4.
