LEROY (remixes)
Pop/Funk band LEROY has been pretty much in a coma since the departure of founding member guitarist/composer/producer Pat ‘Chuksing’ Wong. Pat relocated permanently to California last year. Before he left he gave me the Leroy EP session files. Throughout 2010 I have been tinkering with remixing the songs from the EP. So far I’ve done about 5 or 6 remixes, some are of the same song but in a completely different genre to the other remix.
I’m hoping to finish all the remixes in mid 2011.
Also hoping to do some shows again as Leroy is such a high-energy band that is really accessible and gets the dance-floor heating up!

AM FREQUENCIES
A number of AM Frequencies albums are planned.
Of course there’s the on-going “Re-Fleshed” volumes (remixes/re-works done by various artists from around the globe). This year we’ll be seeing Volume 4 being available.
I’m planning on doing an ambient recording too.
Also looking into a trip-hop based recording collaborating with Optimus Prime (aka my brother Tim) and also Studio Tann (Tim Hagan aka DJ Jonah).

BUTTERKNIFENINJA
With the ‘upgrade’ of Rupert Goes Studios, and RupertG’s new guitar, it’s quite likely that ButterKnifeNinja will continue working on material.

DYKE DESTROYER
Call it anit-music, free-improv rock, avant-gauze-core or just horrible, horrible noise – Dyke Destroyer is one of the most enjoyable projects I’ve been involved in.  Formed a few years ago, the project has a constant rotating line-up (depending on people’s availability), and has performed a handful of live shows. Only just last week the new album was ‘released’ (post on how to obtain it coming shortly). There’s even talk of an unplugged recording.

DÖD
A black metal project which started out as a ‘joke’, to just have a play with writing metal with an orchestral accompaniment. After writing a number of songs, I was actually quite surprised with how decent they sounded, and even had input from fellow other project members (RupertG [ButterKnifeNinja] and Nick Soole [Slimey Things]).
Tracks have all  been recorded and now I’m in the process of bouncing down the music in preparation for vocals.

DEATH VALLEY BURIAL GROUND
Doom/drone/blues project which I hope to start laying songs down for. Hoping to get musician pals (old and new) to be involved as guests.
2009/2010 saw me get quite into doom and drone music so there’s some of this style floating around in mind.

UNTITLED EXPERIMENTAL DRONE/DOOM/NOISE PROJECT
Mid last year, Dutch guitarist/multi-instrumentalist/producer Tom Sibren van Iersel contacted me about collaborating on something together. We’d both been listening to a lot of drone and Tom suggested we mix it with noise elements (from all noise areas, such as black noise to harsh Japanese noise to 70s noise to ambient noise). Both of us are extremely busy but hopefully we can get something started.

VIOLENCE IN ACTION
Last year I began to be involved in musical-game group Violence In Action, conceived and led by Lachlan Kerr (Godswounds). It was a great idea and really fun to do, but unfortunately I probably will not be able to be involved due to other commitments.

Serious Beak came from the ‘ashes’ (more an evolution than a death) of technical-grindcore band Ebolie .
The band is currently a four-piece without vocals, but the guys are open to having a vocalist or additional instruments.
For a brief period Nick Soole was working with the band as the vocalist/lyricist/FX but had to leave due to other musical commitments. He may work with the band in the future in the production / vocal chair.

I’m very excited about being in this band, as I’ve been into metal since I was 10 but have never played in a metal band (other than home projects and the metal sections/elements of Chewed Food and Slimey Things).
The Beak guys are very cool, nice, funny lads and extremely talented musicians.
Not only the above, but the music these guys write is not your ‘standard’ metal. There’s numerous other genre elements in there and even without a vocalist, the music is still engaging.

I’m currently working hard on learning the songs I’ve been given and I’m looking forward to Beaking-Out in 2011.

My debut show with the band will be January 18 (Tuesday) at The Sando in Newtown – Facebook Event details are HERE. We’ll be supporting some other awesome bands on the night.
