Everyone pretty much knows of Miles Davis, and most would know of his album ‘Kind of Blue’ which is often seen as his greatest work, and one of the top 10 jazz albums of all time.
I love that album too, but my favourite track on it is ‘Blue In Green’.
It just has that classic, ‘New York jazz vibe’, and brings to mind things like ‘Taxi Driver’ to mind.

Miles Davis - Kind of Blue

When working on the Re-Fleshed project, I’d think of all the different ways I could re-version a track. I wanted to do a classic jazz styled one.
‘Nothing Like A False Prophet’ suited it best, with all it’s complex chords.
So I re-arranged it to fit the mold of ‘Blue In Green’.
I’d also been listening to a bit of Milt Jackson at the time, so I added vibes to the track.
I wanted to make it sound like it was an old recording too, so I did all that hard-panning, mix saturation and noise etc..
I like how it turned out.
