PISSFARM – ‘Virus’ ["Re-fleshed - Volume 7"]

Pissfarm is another one-off project by Andrew Mortensen.
With this project, he gets-in-touch with his ‘aggressive’ side and takes influences from early Napalm Death, Brutal Truth, early-The Dillinger Escape Plan & other hardcore/grindcore acts.

An EP is planned for sometime in 2014.

This re-versioning came about originally back on October of 2012. While looking for ideas I grabbed the middle section of “Virus” and sped it up. I then stopped work on it & tried another idea, an ambient-industrial version of the main theme in “Virus”. I also stopped work on that.
It wasn’t until earlier this year when I caught (Serious Beak bandmate) Lachlan Dale‘s new project. That band is Jackals. Musically, Pissfarm isn’t really like Jackals, but it was their energy and aggression that triggered something in me to go back to the idea I did in October 2012. Their set was intense, angry, heavy, sludgey and just damn good. I did try and add to doom/sludge section, but it didn’t gel with the rest of the song.
At the same time, I checked out the ambient version of Virus I had begun work on also. It reminded me of something you might hear on a mid-90s Napalm album, so I put it as an intro.
Oh, and yes, I was heaps original with the logo – used the Brutal Truth font… hehe.
